Steampunk robots and a penny farthing! That's amazing.

(links to the artist's DA)

I may have to try drawing something like this.

Saw this in a museum...
Toys were so much more charming back in the old days.

(and disturbing)

Steampunk (ish)

Success!
I'm quite excited about this one.

(note: I have no idea what that 'gun' is. I don't know anything about guns, fantasy or otherwise. Hence why it looks more like an ornamental water pistol than anything else. )

I had a lot of fun messing around with filters, gradients, contrast etc. on low-opacity layers after I finished the image... it really adds a certain something!

Time spent probably totals to around 10-11 hours.
I think I need a new blog name. I'm a cat lover, so I have no idea where 'Decapitated Cats' came from...
I'm terrible at thinking of catchy titles! Hmm.
Very quick graphic-novel-style sketches of ladies.

And a section of my work in progress:
(by the way it's going, it's one of my best so far!)

Monday 7 February 2011

I have interviews at NUCA (Norwich), Worcester and UWE (Bristol)..!! :D
I've yet to hear from Edinburgh.
I can already foresee me awkwardly stumbling over my words and generally making a prat of myself.

Thursday 3 February 2011

I have spent inordinate amounts of time Googling the works of: Kent Williams, Ashley Wood, Phil Hale, Rick Berry and John Watkiss, amongst others...
I'm planning on buying the Sparrow books which show their art. (£40 for a box set of 6 hardcover books! Ah!)

Their work is all amazing and inspiring.

I've been working on this beauty on-and-off today.
I rushed it towards the end and it's not quite finished, I'm just practicing this creepy-looking realism... I might try making some actual paintings.
