Colour

I am learning to colour, after being inspired by Jehan Choo's art I saw in a book.

Here's my first attempt at decent colouring, I've realized what I've been doing wrong is I've been using the wrong brushes, and I need to vary them more. I'm quite chuffed with this!

edit: now that I look back on this after a day, it really creeps me out. I don't think that realistic colouring/shading style fits my drawing style...

Is it cliche to express your frustration on a blog that nobody ever reads? Yes. Oh well...

Doodles I did during lesson yesterday. I believe my attention span is gradually worsening as I age.

New project.

I've been struck with the motivation to work on an ongoing drawing project!
(I would write this on DA but it is blocked on the college network because of it's 'explicit content', and I'll probably forget this if I don't write it somewhere...)

I am going to combine both things that I love dearly: cartoons and metal, and thus cariacature every metal band - and non-metal, I suppose - that I like, or that are particularly recognizable. I've already doodled a Devin Townsend (I love that man).

But yeah, most bands that appear on my last.fm: Opeth, Meshuggah, Behemoth, Bloodbath, Ihsahn, Shining, Hypocrisy, Ulver, Empyrium etc. etc.

I'm going to draw them all, photoshop them and upload them. How exciting :P

In other news, nothing.

back to DA...

I may return to DeviantArt because there's more people there. I need comments... and stuff... hah.

Colour?!

Oh my! My first wanders into the realm of the comic/graphic novel:

Hmm... it took me a long time to get that speech bubble.

And I don't have patience for backgrounds.

Yeah much practice is needed.

I'm quite looking forward to learning how to do this and starting one though... I need something to keep me occupied nowadays.

Sometimes I just dislike people. I'm quite happy to live in this room with Devin on iTunes and leaving it at that, it's much less distressing.

My tablet is back!

Again, apologies for the quality... I didn't realize unil I was cropping them and I'm afraid I just couldn't be arsed to re-scan!

We have a snazzy new computer, which was certainly badly needed. I can use my tablet again, thank the heavens. To test this I coloured in a little sketch, as you can see I need to brush up my digital colouring skills...

This week has been incredibly stressful for various reasons, and I don't see the stress ending any time soon. I'll be glad when it's all just over with and I'll have months of free time to do whatever I please... the notion alone is simply delightful.

I'd like to make another blog for my slightly more ... philosophical?! pursuits (stuff that isn't cartoony, really). This'll include photography and writing/poetry (I know, poetry is a bit lame. And I've still yet to invest in an SLR camera so my photography's not at it's best either... well, it was just a thought, we'll see how things go)
